Spring is coming!

...and it is time to begin thinking of summer vacation - long lazy days by the river, lots of fishing, hiking, and sightseeing.

For us here at Smith River RV Park and Marina," Where quiet campers come to stay" it is time to start getting ready for our campers. We know that folks who come appreciate the quiet, but that they also want to know what is going on in the area.

We're compiling a list of things to do and places to go for those who want to stir from camp occasionally to visit life in Reedsport (just 10 miles away) and the surrounding areas.

As I write this Jerry is working in the Camp office, insulating and sheet-rocking it to make it nicer for everyone. We have lots of plans to make  it even more enjoyable for our visitors.

Smith River RV Park and Marina has been around for decades and has long served as a fish camp and occasional hunters' base. At the end of last season, we hosted a couple of bow hunters who took their mountain bikes up into the hills looking for elk. They got one too!  Hunting with mountain bikes -who woulda thought? -- makes perfect sense when you think about it though.

One of the items on our list of things to do is to get our site up and running. Thanks for reading our first post.
